Della Tsang is facing the toughest fight of her life-and the most personal. In her new role as an elite paranormal investigator, she's assigned a twenty year old murder case...and the accused killer is none other than her own father.Making matters worse, since she was reborn, she's been bound to the mysterious and infuriatingly gorgeous Chase Tallman-a vampire with his own hidden agenda. Della still feels betrayed by all the secrets he's kept from her, but she'll need his help to find out the truth about her father. But what about Steve, the hunky shape-shifter who she can't seem to forget?
The quest for answers will lead them into the darkest, ugliest supernatural gangs in town... and into the scariest reaches of their hearts.
The last book of the After Dark series is in my opinion a perfect ending. Finally all the puzzles, which are open through all three books, are solved. Of course the scenes between Della and Chase do not miss. C. C. Hunter is – and will always be – a great author. I’ll definitely immerse lots of times in the world of Shadow Falls. The whole story is full of humor and reading it was such a rush. Also the solving of the murder was really thrilling. Lots of times I doubt on the solutions just to have another opinion thereafter… But the story isn’t just funny. When the story is about Della’s family it is going to be sad or at least the atmosphere is a bit more down. I find it a pity that Kylie, Miranda, Lucas and all the other persons who are so familiar to me don’t occur as often as in the other books. But they still occur in some scenes which I won’t forget for a long time. Especially I can remember a scene between Holiday, Burnett, Della and Hannah. Hannah is saying her first real word! Without spoiling you I just can say: Holiday isn’t really happy about it. This is definetly one of my favorite scenes!
I can recommend this book to everyone who already read the other books of the Series and liked it as well. And if you haven’t read the Shadow Falls Camp Series and the After Dark Series you should definitely do it!
